| Mercy Teams |
Welcome to Mercy Teams, the branch of Mercy Ships that provides short-term outreach opportunities for churches, schools, civic organizations and groups of individuals. Knowing first-hand the challenges and complexities of arranging such trips, Mercy Teams handles all the logistics and equips the teams in preparation for their time of service.
Mercy Teams operate in both the developing world as well as developed nations. Working alongside Mercy Ships projects and other established organizations and ministries, Mercy Teams augments and complements their work while encouraging local churches.

While we love to think anyone can come and serve with us, the reality is that not everyone is cut out for volunteer service in a developing nation onboard a hospital ship! There are a number of factors that would contraindicate service with Mercy Ships. For example, if you have a serious health problem, you may not be accepted for service on a Mercy Ship, even as a short-term volunteer. However, we do have support offices around the world, and those who do not qualify to serve onboard a ship can always serve in other ways.
The most important qualification is that you have a willingness to serve and are willing to put the needs of others above your own to demonstrate the love of God to the poor.
Volunteers come on a short-term basis from as little as two weeks to as long as two years of service. Others serve with Mercy Ships in a career capacity. |
